Tommy Lee ‘T.A.’ Allen

WAYCROSS — Tommy Lee “T.A.” Allen, 59 of Waycross, died suddenly Friday evening, December 27, 2024.

Allen was born in Waycross to the late Lewis H. Allen and Evelyn Smith Allen. He had made Waycross his home for his entire life.

Allen was a 1984 graduate of Pierce County High School. He worked many years as a detective

and K-9 officer for the Ware County Sheriff’s Department. Allen retired in 2018 from the Brantley County Sheriff’s Department where he worked as a K-9 Officer.

Allen was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Waycross. He will forever be remembered for his kind, generous and caring spirit, who made lasting friendships with everyone he met.

Along with his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Allen.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Allen of Waycross; his daughter, Halana Kirton and her husband, Will, of Waycross; two grandsons, Colt Kirton and Clint Kirton; three brothers, Russell Wayne Allen and his wife, Sheila, of Waycross, Richard Allen and his wife, Linda, of Waycross, and Bobby Allen and his wife, Lynn, of Brantley County; two sisters, Carolyn Courson of Blackshear and Marie Musgrove of Waycross; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brantley County Sheriff’s Office “Shop with a Cop” program.
