Rebuilding effort seeks residents Rebuilding Together Waycross is taking applications for its 2025 workday rehabilitating Ware County homes.
At the workday in April, volunteers will make critical home repairs free of charge to qualified applicants. County residents must own the home, be 62 or older or have a permanent disability, and meet low income guidelines. Applications can be obtained at Action Pact, Southeastern Credit Union, Central Baptist Church and Waycross City Hall. MSH sets diabetes panel discussion Memorial Satilla Health will hold a panel discussion on diabetes at noon, Friday, January 24 at the Train Depot Community Room, 315 Plant Avenue.
A team of medical professionals will discuss the disease, its prevention and care in the free and open forum.

‘Touch a Truck’ scheduled Jan. 11 Ware County’s 4-H and its UGA Extension Agency are teaming to stage a free “Touch-a-Truck” safety event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, January 11 at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds, 2335 Knight Avenue.
There will be a variety of vehicles — fire truck, police car, SWAT car, ambulance, excavator, etc. — for attendees to learn from and interact with. There also will be a car seat checkup.
