Walker pens second children’s book

Local author’s work is next in ‘J and Jay Want To Be Leaders’ series

Dr. Jené Walker has launched her second children’s book in the J and Jay Want To Be Leaders series, “I Will Change the World.”

“When reading ‘I Will’ Change the World,” children travel vicariously with J and Jay, meeting boys and girls from various cultures,” stated Dr. Walker, a Wayross resident. “This prof ound story teaches children global thinking and global leadership and more as these two leaders take them on a journey from the United States to ten countries on the continent of Africa.”

Dr. Walker is an educator and leadership development consultant, author, and speaker on a mission to teach leadership skills and mindsets to children of all ages through her books.

“Each of us was created to make an impact in an area or areas of specialty and expertise,” she said. “J and Jay quietly, but powerfully make an impact in each of the countries they visit in Africa.

“In each country in Africa, J and Jay listen to the native leaders to learn about business and other industries, and each country’s culture.”

One of the most important global leadership skills is listening, Dr. Walker wrote in a press release for the book.

“Some leaders are fearful of listening to others because they believe it undermines their authority. Show me a global leader and I will show you an extraordinary listener,” she wrote.

The Georgia Performance Standards focus on the historic, geographic, government/civic and economic understanding of Africa.

“In light of this focus, we set the study of J and Jay’s global leadership in ‘I Will Change the World’ in Africa.”

“I Will Change the World” addresses the following questions and many more: ● Why is it important to listen to others, especially as a leader?

● Why is empathy an important trait for a global leader?

● How will you communicate with others who speak, dress, look, eat, or believe differently?

● Why does understanding different cultures help you become legendary?

“The goal of ‘I Will Change the World’ is to model global leadership traits through J and Jay and the African children,” said Walker. “We want to help other boys and girls to develop cultural awareness, listening skills, and global leadership traits. We want them to develop an openness and respect for other cultures.

“We want them to develop a strategic vision and plan to make a cultural and global impact. We want them to develop projects and business ventures that promote the welfare of others.”

“I Will Change the World” can be ordered from Amazon and other platforms such as Barnes and Noble, and Google Books. For more information, contact Dr. Walker at info@firstbillionairebooks. com
