WAYCROSS — Mr. Ricky Earl Johns, 58, passed away suddenly Thursday, November 21, 2024, at his residence in Waycross.
Johns was born in Waycross to Willie Earl Johns and Mary Kay Roberson Johns, and gradu ated from Ware County High School in 1984.
Right out of high school he became a welder and eventually worked with Milliken Flooring Products in Alma. He also was a truck driver for Walmart and Covenant Transport for several years before becoming partners in the family business, John’s Hay Farms.
In addition to his father, Johns was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James B. and Viola Roberson; and paternal grandparents, Lois and Christine Johns.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Kay Roberson Johns of Waycross; a brother, James “Randy” Johns of Waycross; his girlfriend, Nancy Woody of Waycross; several aunts and uncles, Donna and Wes McQuaig of Jacksonville, Fla., Barbara Ann Wall of Pearson, and Eugene Johns (wife Gail) of Waycross; as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.
A memorial service was held Sunday, December 1 at Waycross Seventh-day Adventist Church.
