James Nelson Crews, 81, of Patterson, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Harborview Nursing Home in Blackshear.
Born in Screven, August 5, 1941, he had lived in Pierce County all his life. He was a Patterson High School graduate and worked in construction for most of his life. He was a workaholic and loved animals, especially dogs. He was a member of New Life Assembly of God in Blackshear.
He was a son of the late Alvin Ralston and Dessie Lee Moody Crews.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jackie Stephens Crews, Patterson; his son, Van “Freddie” (Melanie) Crews, Waycross; a sister, Latrelle (Jimmy) Hall, Patterson; four brothers, Lawton (Sandra) Crews, Waycross, Robert Crews, Jesup, David Crews, Blackshear and Lee Crews, Patterson; two grandchildren, Van Fredrick (Casey) Crews Jr. and Reva Marie (Jeff) Turner; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
