MES Beta Club places at state convention

Members of the Beta Club of Midway Elementary School (MES) placed in nine different events at the recent State Convention in Savannah, December 4-5.

Thirty-four members of the MES chapter of the club participated in various individual and group events at the convention. Areas of competition ranged from digitally enhanced photography to apparel design, engineering and more.

The school extended a special thanks goes to all the parents, sponsors, teachers and administration for their unwavering support, which made this experience a success for the Beta Club.

Teachers and students alike are excited to continue their journey, already looking forward to competing at Beta Nationals in Orlando, June 27-29.

Weston Ware, Roberto Lopez-Castillo, Chandler Little, Griffin Walsh and Emma Sergent took first place in Engineering.
Evelyn Strader got first place in Quilling.
Kayla Sergent, Cayden Perrott, Garrison Walker, Cam Yeomans, Mason Nettles and Waylon Spivey took third place in 3-D design.
Harley Bennett, Kambria Wagner, FInley Kildow, Darcy Kicklighter, Ella Dixon and Eleanor Sumner received third place in Apparel Design.
Aubrey Gerard and Layla Holton got first place in Digital Portfolio.
Emma Sergent, Abigail Foreman and Aubrey Gerard landed third place in Book Battle.
Garrison Walker got first place in Digitally Enhanced Photography.
Premiere Performer Aubree Buck got her Golden Ticket.
Third place in Living Literature was a team composed of (front row) Mila Anderson, Hudson Zauner and Libby Carrin, (middle row) Aris Harwood, Audrey Martinez, Rosa Badillo and Dax Sheffield, (back row) Finley Kildow and Darcy Kicklighter, plus sponsor Jaime Stewart.
