Wedding bells along with Christmas bells rang to highlight the recent Christmas luncheon honoring Just Older Youths (JOY) Group at Blackshear First Baptist Church. They were recognized with a special song and joined the large group in enjoying a Christmas feast and special speakers. Workers for Christ Sunday school class director Ann Cason thanked her class members and caterer Jim Waters along with the decorating committee for a “memorable event.” Church senior pastor, the Rev. Dr. Justin Gambrell, opened the occasion with prayer and presented speakers, the Rev. Will Emery who will move to Colorado for a new church position, and church member/Bible teacher Pam Brooks. Anniversary honorees pictured above include, front: Perry and Kathryn Tison; in back, Tom Sullivan, Judy and Ralph Shearn, Bill and Margaret Cselle (married the longest, over 60 years); the Rev. Joe Thigpen and wife, Shirley Thigpen, Bobby and Gennell Zorn, Vickie and Blair Vincent, Brenda and Dudley Howard and Jimmy and Marilyn Bowen.
