JESUP — Geneva Boyett Bacon, 87, of Jesup, died Monday, December 16, 2024.
The Pierce County native resided in Wayne County. Mrs. Bacon was a member of Anderson Drive Baptist Church where she served as secretary for many years.
She was part of a very large, close-knit family of 11 children with seveb brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Bacon enjoyed working with special needs children, participating in all of the functions and
programs in her church and was always counted on by her family and friends in the community.
Mrs. Bacon was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and rarely missed a game.
She was predeceased by her husband, Pete Bacon, Jr.; her daughter, Theresa Kirkland McArthur; and multiple siblings.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, Tim (Jerri) Kirkland of Summerville, W.Va.; her sonin- law, Sam McArthur of Alma; her sister, Jenny Lee of Alma; her sister-inlaw, Carolyn Boyett of Blackshear; grandchildren, Tammy (William) Gardner of Baxley; Christy (Joc) Strickland of Blackshear, Samantha (Lester) Lee of Hoboken and Ridge Kirkland of Jacksonville, Fla.; 12 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Friday, December 20, 2024 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Lee and Rev. Rick Lee officiating.
Interment followed at Ramah Cemetery in Mershon.
Active pallbearers will be her family and friends.
