NAHUNTA — Angela Darlene Dowling Thomas, 67, of Nahunta died Friday aftern oo, December 20, 2024 at Memorial Satilla Health after a brief illness.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Waycross to the late Albert Lee Dowling and AntisGene Woods Dowling and made south Georgia her home all her life.
She worked many years for the Brunswick Housing Authority as an administrative assistant and most recently worked for ERC in the customer service department. Mrs. Thomas enjoyed reading and cooking, but her true loves were her grandchildren and the time she spent with them.
She was a friend to many, truly a selfless person always there for people.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Corbitt.
She is survived by her husband, Liston Thomas of Nahunta; three children, Joshua Thomas and wife Coralee of Hickox, Jeffrey Thomas and fiancée Cathy Henderson of Hickox, Julie Ruis and husband Mark of Waynesville; 14 grandchildren, Cody Thomas and wife Kimi, Dillon Thomas and wife Lizzy, Christine Thomas and fiancée Thomas Hall, Alyssa Thomas, Sky Thomas, Joseph Henderson, Perry Henderson and wife Sierra, Cathy Henderson, Victoria Henderson, Jessica Thomas, Sgt. Jordan Clark and husband Sgt. Caleb, Marrisa Brockway, Spenser Little, expected Elijah Thomas; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Reditha Shaw and husband Mack, and Becki Brown and husband Jim; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11 a.m., in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
