Sun. wreck sends 5 to MSH

A two-vehicle wreck Sunday, December 8 on Georgia 4 and Jamestown Road sent five people to Memorial Satilla Health for treatment, the Georgia State Patrol said.

Ferman Atchley, 66, and Hunter Norman, 31, were the drivers of the vehicles that collided when Atchley was attempting a turn onto Jamestown Road. Atchley and Julius Lee, a passenger with Atchley, as well as three juveniles in Norman’s vehicle, were transported by Ware EMS to MSH following the collision, the GSP report said.

Norman and Tiffany Norman, 30, another passenger in his 2016 GMC Sierra, were not injured.

Atchley was headed south on Georgia 4 while Norman was northbound. Atchley attempted to make a left hand turn onto Jamestown Road and was struck in the front bumper by the front bumper of Norman’s pickup truck, the report said.

The impact caused Atchley’s vehicle to rotate 360 degrees before coming to a final uncontrolled stop facing south in the southbound lane of Georgia 4. Norman’s vehicle came to a controlled rest on the east shoulder of Georgia 4.

The wreck caused enough damage to disable both the HHR and the pickup, the report said.
