Lonnie Dryden

WAYCROSS — Lonnie Dryden, 75 of Waycross, died Wednesday night, December 11, 2024, at Memorial Satilla Health after an extended illness.

Dryden was born in Brantley County to the late Nathan Benjamin and Tish Melton Dryden. He lived all of his life in Brantley County.

Dryden was a brick mason with Dryden Masonry for many years. He always enjoyed whittling and coon hunting. His C.B. name was “Coon Dog.” Dryden especially enjoyed raising and training dogs.

Along with his parents, Dryden was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean McCray Dryden; five sisters, Jackline Dryden, Alene Todd, Deloris Waldron, Beatrice Lee and Evone Carter; three brothers, Cecil Dryden, Raymond Dryden and Elvie Dryden.

Survivors include two children, Lonnie Benjamin Dryden and his wife, Jackie, of Waycross and Shelly Murray and her husband, Billy, of Waycross; eight grandchildren, Amber Dixon (husband James) of Waycross, John Enzian of Waycross, Kayle Murray Nobles (husband Jacob) of Nicholls, Kayla Dryden of Waycross, Cody Murray of Waycross, Emily Dryden of Douglas, Haley Dryden of Waycross and Chase Murray of Waycross; three great grandchildren, Keira Dixon, Noah Eunice and Sutton Clark Nobles; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service was held Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial followed in High Bluff Cemetery.
