The Pierce County Recreation Department and Hospice Satilla recently hosted a delightful Thanksgiving Lunch and bingo event for local seniors, bringing joy and fellowship to the community. As guests arrived, they were greeted with warm hospitality and offered coffee and donuts to enjoy while they prepared for a fun-filled morning of bingo. The room buzzed with excitement as attendees played several rounds with prizes adding to the festivities. Following the games, the seniors were treated to a traditional Thanksgiving feast that showcased all the flavors of the season. The menu featured fried turkey, savory dressing, sweet potato souffle, green bean casserole, creamy mashed potatoes, field peas, rolls and an assortment of decadent desserts.

The event served as a reminder of the importance of community and the joy that comes from gathering together during the holiday season. Both Pierce County Recreation department and Hospice Satilla extended their gratitude to all the volunteers who helped make the event a success. Thrift stated, “The Community partnership between the PC Rec Department and Hospice Satilla has been great for the seniors of Pierce County. It is all about educating on the services we offer, building relationships and spreading joy to the communities we serve. I am very thankful to Coach Brown and her staff for partnering with me each month.”

Mrs. Stacey Thrift, Hospice Satilla, and Coach Maureen Brown, Pierce County Recreation Department, would like to invite any senior age 55 and over to join in on the fun the second Monday of every month at 10 a.m. The group meets at the NFC gym located at 705 College Ave. Blackshear.
