Pierce County set a schedule of its meetings and employee holidays for 2023 at its meeting last Tuesday night.
Commissioners will hold their monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month. The only exception will be the July meeting, which falls on Independence Day, July 4. The meeting will be moved back one week.
Regular meeting dates include January 3, February 7, March 7, April 4, May 2, June 6, July 11, August 1, September 5, October 3, November 7 and December 5 in 2023.
Meetings are held at 6 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room at the Southeast Georgia Regional Agriculture Center on College Avenue in Blackshear.
County government employees will receive 10 paid holidays for 2023.
Holidays for 2023 include New Year’s Day, Monday, January 2, Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 16, Good Friday, April 7, Memorial Day, May 29, Independence Day, July 4, Labor Day, September 4, Thanksgiving and Black Friday, Nov. 23 and 24 and Christmas holidays, Dec. 22 and 25, 2023.
