The Board of Education unanimously approved a calendar for the 2025-2026 school year Monday night.
The 2025-2026 school year will begin Monday, Aug. 4, 2025.
The Pierce County Board of Education approved the school calendar at their work session last Thursday morning. Superintendent Dara Bennett said the calendar will feature 177 student instruction days and 13 professional development days.
Holidays include Sept. 1 for Labor Day, Oct. 1314 for fall break, November. 24-28 for Thanksgiving, December 22, 2025-January 2, 2026 for Christmas, January 19, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Feb. 16 for President’s Day and April 6-10 for spring break.
Dates for new teacher orientation are to be announced. Pre-planning will be July 28-31 and August 1, 2025 and post planning would be May 2022, 2026. Professional development days will include October 15, 2025 and January 5-6, 2026, February 17 and March 9. Professional development days will be holidays for students.
Early release days are planned for Nov. 21 and Dec. 19, 2025 and April 3, 2026.
