The price of postage stamps will increase in the new year.
Stamps for mailing a first class letter will be 63 cents, an increase of three cents beginning January 22, 2023.
The increase is the second in less than a year.
The price of first-class mail stamps increased from 58 cents to 60 cents in July.
The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) determines the rates.
The increase, according to the USPS, will help to keep the postal service competitive and bring in revenues to help offset losses.
Postage price increases are typically capped at the rate of inflation measured by the Consumer Price Index, unless approved by the PRC.
