BLACKSHEAR — Mr. Derin Franklin Rowell, 57, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his residence in Blackshear.
He was born in Ware County to James Clinton Rowell, Jr. and Shirley Kirkland Rowell. Rowell was a 1985 graduate of Ware County High School and a truck driver for various companies over the years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Rowell was preceded in death by his father, James Clinton Rowell, Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Kirkland Rowell of Waycross; three siblings, Scott Rowell (Lora) of Waycross, Shannon O’Steen (Rickey) of Woburn, Mass., and Beverly Inman (Billy) of Blackshear; nine nieces and nephews, Constance Hand (David), Candace Sowell (Jordan), April O’Steen, Bryce O’Steen (Courtney), Travis O’Steen (Destany), Caitlin Rowell, Jarrett Rowell,
Gill Rowell
Blake James (Bailey), and Will Inman; a great nephew, Derin-Lee James Mari; and numerous other great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 12 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Waters Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
