Timothy Jerome Day

WAYCROSS — Timothy

Jerome Day, 60, of Waycross died Friday morning, December 6, 2024, at his residence after an extended illness.

Day was born in Waycross to the late Billy Jerome Day and Kathryn Dowling Day Floyd, and made Waycross his home for most of his life. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army and became an exceptional chef, most recently working at Pizza Inn, but he also worked previously for the City of Waycross in the maintenance department. When he wasn’t working you could find him fishing.

In addition to his father, he also was preceded in death by his faithful dog, Rocky “Boo” and step-father, Harold Floyd.

Day is survived by his wife, Tina Day of Waycross; four stepchildren, Dustin Hostutler of Ohio, Brittany Bagley of Ohio, Amber Bagley of Kingsland, and Haley Outen, husband, Daniel of South Carolina; step grandchildren; Dylan Pitts, Brayden Gillogly, Cameron Outen, Bentley Outen, Levi Outen, and Gunner Outen; his mother, Kathy Floyd of Waycross; a brother, David Day, wife, Debbie of Hoboken; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 14 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
