Pineview Baptist sets holiday events
Pineview Baptist Church, 4487 Pine View Church Road, Waresboro holds Christmas events Sunday, December 15 and 22.
The Pineview Adult Choir will present “I Have Seen the Light” at its 11 a.m. worship service December 15. The musical is created and arranged by Craig Adams.
Pastor Randy Ray is the soloist for the theme song in the production and Mary Alice Aldridge is the soloist for the song “No Eye Had Seen.”
The Children and Youth present their special Christmas Pageant entitled “A Christmas Road Trip” at the 6 p.m. service December 22. Roxanne Aldridge and Jessica Lee are the directors for the program that features the youngsters discovering the true meaning of Christmas on a road trip to Grandpa’s.
Refreshments will be served after the December 22 program.
Aglow to meet at Capt. Joe’s
Waycross Aglow Lighthouse have a dutch treat lunch as part of its December worship.
Meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 14 at Capt. Joe’s Seafood on Plant Avenue. Those who haven’t confirmed attendance, but would like to may call (912) 288-4407 to be added to the seating list.
Minister Beth Taylor, co-founder of Taylor Ministry Group and her husband, Eddie Taylor, will deliver a special Christmas message. Their ministry focuses on preparing today’s church for tomorrow’s world.
The Taylor’s also cofounded Family Discipleship Ministries, a network offering training in discipleship, leadership, worship, and missions. Both are conference speakers and writers.
The Gates has toy, food distribution
The Gates, 6014 Homestead Road, Blackshear, has scheduled a variety of giving efforts for the holiday season.
The church is holding a toy drive for youth as well as a holiday food and toy distribution. Toys for the drive may be dropped off through December 15 in Blackshear at Bennett Pharmacy, 3150 U.S. 84, Dairy Queen U.S. 84 W. and Action Pact, 713 Hendry Street, or Action Pact in Waycross, 50 Tebeau Street.
Donations of new, unwrapped toys, gift cards or for teens may be delivered from 9 a.m. to noon, Sunday, December 15 to The Gates.
The toy and food distribution will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, December 20. There will be a holiday concert featuring music, singing, dancing, and reindeer rides.
Food trucks also will be on site as well as Santa’s House, where pictures will be available with Ol’ St. Nick for $3. Families may register at (912) 406-1478 Dr. De’Borah Brown is Gates host.
Central Baptist has live nativity
Central Baptist Church, 201 Ava Street, renews its annual tradition this weekend with a live nativity program Friday, December 13 through Sunday, December 15.
Times are 7 p.m., 7:30 and 8 p.m. Friday , and 6:30, 7 p.m., 7:30 and 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Those attending should arrive well ahead of the desired performance as parking is limited.
DC Downtown has food ministry
DC Downtown Food Ministry offers food items from a 5,000-square foot warehouse at 201 Jenkins Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The ministry serves more than a dozen counties in Georgia and Florida.
