Saundra Ann Bowen Aldrich, 79, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, December 4, 2022, at her residence.
Born in Blackshear April 8, 1943, she had lived in Pierce County most of her life. She was a graduate of Blackshear High School. She retired as an LPN at Satilla Regional Medical Center, where she worked for 17 years. She loved auctions, spending time with her grandchild and going to the mountains. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers, especially her daylilies and gerbera daisies. She was a member of Hacklebarney Baptist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Rev. Kermit Leon and Margaret Thomas “Maggie” Bowen. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Wynan “J.W.” Bowen and a grandson, B.J. Dixon.
Survivors include her three daughters, Stephanie Aldrich and Charlton “Butch” Blocker, Jesup and Lori Aldrich and Lisa Aldrich, both of Brunswick; a great-grandson, Cohen Dixon; a special niece, Bridgette (Timmy) Lee; a special nephew, Jimmy Bowen; two great-nieces and a great-nephew, Maggie (Mark) Harrell, Jessica Pittman and Hugh (Danielle) Lee; and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, from the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Waycross.
