Samantha Ann Hartley West, 57, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday morning, December 10, 2022, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, following a short illness.
Born June 21, 1965, in Alma, she was a daughter of the late James H. and JoAnn Mixon Hartley. She had lived in Nichols, Douglas, and Waycross before moving to Blackshear in the early 2000s. She had worked as a CNA at Shady Acres in Douglas and Baptist Village in Waycross, before becoming a housewife. She attended Liberty Christian Church in Waycross.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Mason Aaron Hartley West; a niece, M.J. Rowland and a nephew, David Rowland.
Survivors include her husband, Carl West, Blackshear; son, Jim Aaron West (wife Brandie), Blackshear; daughter, Stacia West, Blackshear; two grandsons, Jim Aaron West II and Wesley West; sister, Martha Viola Rowland (husband Crystal), Waycross; brother, James Martin Hartley (wife Karen), Waycross; step-son, Bradley Anderson (wife Christina), Douglas; nephews and nieces, James W. Rowland, Waycross and Laura Viola Crase (husband Robert) and Joseph Rowland (wife Frances), all of Blackshear; brother-in-law, Jay West, Blackshear; her pastors, Richard Jeffers and Dennis Dean and numerous great nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
