Cecil Farrish Manders

BLACKSHEAR — Mr. Cecil Farrish Manders, 85, of Blackshear, passed away early Saturday morning, November 30, 2024, at the Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.

Born August 20, 1939 in Crisp County, Manders lived in Pierce County for most of his life. He was a hard worker and great provider for his family, working in the building industry for GW Lewis Construction Company.

dren and grandchildren in all their hobbies and endeavors.

A member of First Baptist Church of Blackshear, Manders knew the Lord as his Savior and often attended Blackshear Presbyterian Church and Calvary Baptist Church with his family. Manders also found solace listening to Brother Bill Young’s Sunday morning service on the radio.

He was a son of the late William Henry and Beulah Mae West Manders. Manders also was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Sharpe Manders; and 11 siblings, Earl Manders, Lucy Rodriquez, James Manders, Roy Manders, Eugene Manders, Paul Manders, Eunice Pittman, Eula Mae Miller, Bernice Murray, Vera Ruth Norman and Katie Goble.

Survivors include his children, Kelly (Robbin) Rudd and Amy (Chuck) Chancey, all of Waycross, and Kevin (Angela) Manders of Blackshear; a special nephew Darien (Cherrie) Manders of Bristol; three sisters, Katherine Carter of Florida, Susie Kurtz of Valdosta and Annette Manders of Marietta, Ga.; a brother, Johnnie (Vernell) Manders of Waycross; seven grandchildren, Shelly (Dwayne) McDaniel, Chris Rudd, Weston (Sheena) Manders, Luke Manders, Kellyn (Dylan) Nobregas, Dylan Chancey, and Brandon Chancey; six greatgrandchildren, Hudson, Corbin, Aaron, Ashton, Jensen and Isla; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Manders will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 5 from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Young and Mrs. Angela Manders officiating.

Interment will be in the Waters Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
