WAYCROSS — Mr. Warnie Danridge (W.D.) “Dan” Fales of Waycross passed away Friday, November 29, 2024, after an extended and debilitating illness.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 46 years, Helen Lightsey Fales, by a mere three weeks and two days. Fales was 73.
Born January 7, 1951 to Daniel Warnie and Caroline Ocala Graham Fales, he grew up in Coffee County.
After completing his college education, Fales went on to work as a science teacher for several decades, with the majority of those years spent at Ware County High School working alongside his wife. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and educator.

which include a daughter, Caroline; three sons Daniel (wife Jennifer), Jonathan and Eric; two grandsons, Jack and David; a sister-in-law, Diane Lightsey; and two nieces, Dorothy and Kimberly. Fales also leaves behind numerous former colleagues and students who knew him for his dry wit, dark sense of humor, and his encyclopedic knowledge of a variety of subjects.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., today(Wednesday, December 4) at Music Funeral Home.
