Antioch honors vet

The members of Historic Antioch Baptist Church honored Staff Sgt. Willie J. Perry, Jr., a retired U.S. Army veteran, during its worship service Sunday, November 24 to thank him for his service to our country. Sgt. Perry served for 22 years in the US Army with four stateside tours at Ft. Lewis Washington, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, Ft. Knox, Ky., and Ft. Riley, Kansas. He also served three tours in Germany, one tour in South Korea, and one tour in the Gulf war in Iraq. Sgt. Perry was presented a coffee mug filled with goodies, draped with the flag, and an inscription that read “God Bless Our Veteran. We thank him for his service.”
