Kirkendall joins Ware Extension as family agent

Tabitha Kirkendall has joined the Ware County UGA Extension Office as Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Agent for the county.

Kirkendall brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for helping individuals and families thrive through education o n healthy living, fin ancial management, nutrition, and family dynamics.

In her new role, Kirkendall will implement programs and workshops that promote healthier, more sustainable lifestyles for residents across the county.

The FACS Agent is dedicated to supporting families, youth, and communities by providing resources and educational opportunities to improve daily life, whether through cooking classes, budgeting workshops, or programs on child development.

“I'm excited to help my home community and work with my fellow residents to create lasting positive changes,” Kirkendall said. “Family and Consumer Sciences is all about empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. I look forward to collaborating with local organizations, schools, and families to enhance wellbeing across Ware County.”

Before joining the UGA Extension Office, Kirkendall earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Georgia and has several years of experience working in education.

Kirkendall taught fifth grade in Ware County at Wacona Elementary.

Her passion for family wellness, combined with her background in child development, will be instrumental in strengthening the county’s FACS programs.

The Ware County UGA Extension Office invites all residents to take advantage of the upcoming events and educational opportunities designed to enhance everyday life. Keep an eye out for new programs, including car seat checkups, which will be offered very soon.
