ORLANDO — Ware County’s two-day participation in the Florida Get Down tournament here over the weekend ended with a pair of losses to Florida schools.
The Gators (3-2) fell 54-49 Friday night (November 29) to Rickards High School (3-3) of Tallahassee. Ware County dropped a 61-52 decision Saturday afternoon (November 30) to Boyd Anderson (2-2) of Laurderdale Lakes.
Ware County will play five games over the next two week with the first four being on the road.
The Lady Gators and Gators visited Vidalia Tuesday (December 3). They travel Friday, December 6 to face Glynn Academy.
A road trip to Pearson to face Atkinson County is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10 followed by a Friday, December 13 matchup at Valdosta. Glynn Academy visits Saturday, December 14.

The Raiders outscored Ware County in each of the first three quarters in opening up a 45-32 lead. The Gators finished the game outpointing Rickards 17-9 to make things interesting.
The difference in the game came at the free throw line. Ware County was 6-of-8 while the Raiders connected on 14-of-18 attempts.
Jarvis Wright led all scorers with a game-high 22 points with 10 coming in the final period. Wright, the lone double-figure scorer for the Gators, connected on five threes.
Dedric Jackson followed with eight points. Darius Ward and Tezhan Bolds (trey) added seven points each. Shaun McClain (trey) and Sibari Williams contributed three points and two points respectively.
Rickards grabbed a 17-12 lead at the end of the first period. A 10-7 scoring advantage in the second stanza extended the margin to 27-19 at the break.
The Raiders continued to widen the gap during the third quarter outscoring Ware County 18-13 to open up a 45-32 advantage.
Rickards was paced by Romie Cosby’s 14 points and 10 points from B.J. Plummer.

Boyd Anderson bolted to a 25-9 advantage through the opening eight minutes. The Cobras used a 15-12 scoring advantage in the second period to built a 40-21 halftime lead.
The margin was 21 by the end of the third quarter with Boyd Anderson outpointing the Gators 15-13 to carry a 55-34 lead into the final stanza. Ware County closed the game with an 18-6 scoring run.
