DOUGLAS — Ware County’s 8U all-star team captured the District 2 title beating Douglas 31-6 to advance to the South Regional playoffs in Tifton.
Ware County will play Saturday, December 7. No game time or opponent has been announced.
Ware County blanked Bryan County 24-0 and Glynn County 20-0 ahead of the Saturday, November 23 win over Douglas.
LaMarion Boyd and Saeje Goettie scored two touchdowns each with Josh Balletine adding one. Boyd also tacked on an extra point.
“I want to give God all the glory for our win today,” said head coach Daniel Fore. “I would like to thank my wonderful wife, all the wives of our assistant coaches and the assistant coaches. I also want to thank Ware County High, Ware County Recreation Department. I also want to thank the parents and their commitment to this 2024 8U All-Star team.
“Now about these 8U football players, they have worked hard. Even though they played on different teams during the regular season, this team has gelled together and are the epitome of team.”
