BROWNTOWN — A bicyclist was taken for treatment of injuries after being struck from behind Wednesday night.
Steven Carver, 34, of Hortense, was riding his Xoom ZX 110cc scooter (unknown year) south on Post Road near its intersection with Ga. Hwy. 32, according to the report of Georgia State Patrol Sgt. 1st Class Brandon Smith.
Cody Thomas, 35, also of Hortense, was driving a 2024 KIA Sorento trailing Carver. Kim Thomas, 34, and two juveniles were also in the vehicle.
Thomas told Sgt. Smith the lights of a northbound vehicle on Post Road temporarily blinded causing him to run into the back of the Xoom ZX 110cc scooter throwing Carver causing the 6:14 p.m. accident.
Thomas also informed the GSP officer the Xoom ZX 110cc scooter had no reflectors affixed to the body.
Carver was transported for treatment by Brantley County EMS.
