WAYNESVILLE — Paul Elbrey Johnson, 68 of Waynesville, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Jacksonville, Fla. Johnson’s parents were Elbrey Elsie Johnson and Dorothy Mary Brockington Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Janice Lain; and a brother-in-law, Gary Lain.
Johnson was an iron worker for many years and enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the mountains and loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Shawn Johnson (Karen) of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Johnson, Joshua Johnson (Danielle) and Matthew Johnson; two great grandchildren, Kloie Johnson and Amelia Johnson; fiancé, Jacque Moore; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael Johnson (Tootie) of Waynesville; and a sister and brother-in-law, Gwen Jenkins (Joe) of Gainesville, Fla.; also several other relatives and a host of friends.
No services will be held at this time.
