METTER — JoAnn Mc-Daniel Marsh, 80, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away peacefully November 28, 2024 at her home.
Mrs. Marsh was born December 8, 1943 in Brantley County to the late Robert Sylvester McDaniel and the late Hattie Lou Cooper Mc-Daniel.
She lived a life characterized by kindness, creativity, and dedication to her loved ones With a working career spanning 25 years at Austell K-Mart, Mrs. Marsh embodied the value of hard work and commitment. Her professional life was marked by the same she demonstrated in her personal endeavors.

Mrs. Marsh found fulfillment outside of her career by engaging in activities that brought joy to many. She was especially known for her talent in making flower arrangements for her church sanctuary, bringing beauty and color to those sacred spaces.
Mrs. Marsh’s culinary skills were another highlight of her life. She was an amazing baker and dedicated herself to cooking and serving meals for her family, nurturing them with love through her cooking. Additionally, she took pride in sewing clothes for her loved ones, showcasing her artistic flair and deep commitment to family. Among Mrs. Marsh’s proudest accomplishments was her involvement in her church’s food ministry, where she coordinated efforts to provide meals, further establishing her legacy of generosity and compassion within the community.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Bernard McDaniel, Eddie McDaniel, Leonard Mc-Daniel, Bobby McDaniel and Danny McDaniel, who were part of her life’s journey.
Mrs. Marsh leaves behind a loving family who mourn her passing. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Gale Rhodes and her husband Jeff; her brother, Gordon Mc-Daniel; her grandchildren, Chelsey (Blake) Singer, Brad (Julie) Rhodes, and Kasey Rhodes; greatgrandchildren, Chloe, Mason, Knox, and Wylee; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Liberty Baptist Church in Winston, Ga., with Pastor Rick Bowen and Deacon Greg Strickland officiating.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, of Cobbtown, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
