Pierce County High School (PCHS) Basketball fought through a hard set of games this week.
Varsity boys and girls lost to Wayne County in a set of December 2 away games.
Girls coach Lacie Evans reported that Varsity Girls lost 40-25. Alayna Bell was the leading scorer.
For varsity boys, it was the first game back for all players from football for Pierce County Boys Basketball.
Boys coach Jamison Williams reported that the team struggled to score throughout the game following a weak opening half.
“The athletes were sluggish. We performed better in the second half and brought the score within 10 points,” said Coach Williams.
Wayne County regained the advantage to 15. The final score was 53-37.
Elijah Howard was the top scorer with 15 points.
Up next for the Bears are games against Jeff Davis (Dec. 5), Lanier (Dec. 6) and Charlton (Dec. 8).
“We want to take care of business at Jeff Davis High School (December 5) and against Lanier County (December 6) at home,” said Coach Williams.
