Adopt a Senior for Christmas The Adopt A Senior For Christmas program will be held this year at the Pierce County Senior Center. If you would like to adopt a senior for Christmas, please come by the senior center at 711 Hendry Street, Blackshear and select a senior’s adoption card from the Christmas tree there.
The card will contain a list of items individual senior citizens need. Gifts need to be turned in by December 6. Call (912) 449-0145.
The Senior Center is operated by Action Pact.
Memorial Satilla maternity classes Baby on the way? Memorial Satilla Health will host a maternity class Nov. 18 and a tour of the Birthing Center (third floor) December 9. Tours and classes will be held from 57 p.m. in the Birthing Center Conference Room, 1900 Tebeau Street, Waycross. Register today at memorialsatillahealth.com/calendar.
Class topics include: breastfeeding, cesarean sections (C-sections), diet and exercise, preparing for labor and delivery, relaxation techniques and vaginal deliveries.
Satilla Conservation District meets monthly The Satilla River Conservation District meets monthly on the third Tuesday at noon. The meeting will be held inperson at Captain Joe’s Seafood Restaurant, 2010 Plant Avenue, Waycross.
