Brantley County’s Herons remained unbeaten turning back Charlton County and Appling County.
The Herons (3-0) notched a second straight road win Tuesday, November 19 beating the Indians 56-42. Brantley County kept the Pirates at arms length in winning 58-42 Thursday, November 21.
Brantley County finished its season series with Atkinson County with the Rebels’ visit Tuesday (November 26). The Herons return to the court Tuesday, December 3 with a date at Appling County to wrap up the season series. They travel to Wayne County Thursday, December 5.

FOLKSTON — Courtlon Fuller and Tucker O’Quinn recorded double-doubles leading Brantley County past the Indians.
Fuller scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds. O’Quinn (five rebounds) scored 12 points while adding a game-high 12 assists.
“I was proud of Courtlon,” said head coach Tripp Herrin. “He had a real good night when we really needed it.”
The Herons opened up a 17-9 first quarter lead. Charlton County sliced one point off the margin with a 10-9 scoring advantage in the second stanza to get to within 26-19.
Brantley County opened up some breathing room in the third period outscoring the Indians 19-10 to grab a 4529 lead. Charlton County outpointed the Herons 13-11 over the final eight minutes.
Jayden Simmons and Kent Thomas were next in the scoring column for BCHS with seven points and six points respectively. Carson Jacobs netted four points, grabbed six rebounds and took three charges. Holton Depratter also scored four points with Elias Esser chipping in two points.
“Our younger players have gotten some valuable experience these first two games,” added Herrin. “We’re battling some sickness right now, so guys are being asked to play more minutes, or play out of position.”

CANEY BAY — Brantley County got a balanced scoring attack with four players reaching double figures and three having double-doubles.
“It’s still early in the season and we’re working out some issues,” said Herrin. “Our rebounding numbers were great, but we had a lot of turnovers and missed defensive assignments. I also felt like we left a lot of points out there tonight. We’ve got to keep working to improve.” Jacobs (seven) topped the scoring chart with 14 points. Fuller recorded his second straight doubledouble with 13 points and a career-high 19 rebounds.
Patrick O’Quinn had 12 points and 11 assists to go along with eight rebounds. Tucker O’Quinn posted his second straight doubledouble scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds adding seven assists.
BCHS doubled up the Pirates in the opening period grabbing a 20-10 advantage. Appling County outpointed the Herons 8-6 in the second stanza to close the deficit to 26-18 at the break.
Brantley County outscored the Pirates in each of the final two periods. A 16-10 advantage in the third quarter extended the lead to 42-28. The Herons held a 16-14 scoring edge over the last eight minutes.
Four other players joined the scoring column led by Esser’s four points. Cole Courson chipped in two points while Hayden Stanley and Thomas bagged a free throw apiece.
