Christmas Parade set for December 9 “Songs of the Season” will be the theme of this year’s community Christmas parade.
The parade will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9. “This year’s theme highlights Christmas Carols,” said Bethany Strickland, Better Hometown Manager.
The carols can be religious or secular. Floats will need to represent a particular Christmas song.
The annual parade will assemble at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Carter Avenue and will travel down Gordon Street and Main Street (Georgia Highway 15/121) before disbanding at the Board of Education office.

Chamber to hold Community Chow Event The 4th Annual Community Chow event will take place from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2.
Homemade soup, cornbread and desserts will be served at 200 SW Central Avenue.
A “This Little Light” special candlelight ceremony for the community to come together will be held at 6 p.m. Everyone is asked to bring a candle to burn.
