Jeremiah’s Promise Festival of Trees will spread holiday joy and hope across the community.
The magic of the holiday season is set to sparkle in Pierce County as Jeremiah’s Promise, a local non-profit school and therapeutic center, hosts its Inaugural Festival of Trees Gala. This festive celebration aims to bring joy, foster community connections, and support families facing life’s most difficult challenges.
The event is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. December 3, at J. Leonard’s on Main, the event will feature a breathtaking display of creatively decorated holiday trees and décor, generously donated by local businesses, organizations, and individuals. Each unique tree will be auctioned off in a silent bidding event, with proceeds directly benefiting the transformative work of Jeremiah’s Promise.
Adding to the excitement, the donor of the tree that garners the highest bid will be crowned the Festival of Trees Champion, receiving a trophy and a year of community bragging rights. This friendly competition blends creativity with a shared mission to uplift families in need, inspiring local businesses to unite in a season of giving.
“I want to support an organization that is deeply invested in helping special needs children while also furthering Jesus Christ’s Kingdom here on Earth—two missions that are incredibly near and dear to my heart,” shared Allison Herrin, owner of The Speech Clinic, the Presenting Sponsor of this mission.
Vanessa Markel Smith, founder and executive director of Jeremiah’s Promise, reflected on the heart of the event: “This festival is about so much more than holiday celebrations. It’s a time to come together as a community, reflect on the profound love of Jesus, and honor the gift of His birth. Each light on these trees represents hope, resilience, and the light of Christ, who brings peace, healing, and redemption. Just as the birth of Jesus signifies new beginnings, we want to remind families that brighter days are always within reach.”
Having opened its doors earlier this year, Jeremiah’s Promise is dedicated to empowering children and families navigating neurological and behavioral challenges. Through specialized education, therapy, and compassionate care, the organization seeks to restore hope and provide opportunities for growth and healing.
“This season is about reminding every family— no matter their circumstances— that joy, hope, and transformation are possible,” Vanessa added. “The Festival of Trees is a beautiful way to share that message and celebrate the light of the season.”
