Tax Commissioner Terresa Davis was honored on her upcoming retirement with a luncheon last Thursday afternoon at the Pierce County Courthouse Annex.
Friends and family and current and former coworkers gathered to congratulate Davis as she prepares to step down as tax commissioner December 31.
Davis started with county government 37 years ago and later ran for and was elected Tax Commissioner. She has served as tax commissioner for three terms having first been elected in 2012.
Davis says she hasn’t decided exactly what her plans are for retirement, but she says she will spend more time with her family, “probably travel some” and plans to remain active in her church and community.
Davis and her husband, Jerry, have three daughters and sons-inlaw, Dawn Sapp (Michael), Cassie Dyal (Bob) and Danielle Harris (Paul). They also have six grandchildren including John Michael Sapp, Thomas Sapp, Davis Dyal, Aniston Dyal, Massey Harris and Ellie Harris.
The Davises are active members at Beulah Baptist Church.
