SPECIAL PHOTOS

The women of Delta Zeta chapter, Phi Delta Kappa educators sorority staged its annual health fair earlier this month at the entrance to the The Mall at Waycross. The event is held to inform shoppers of the importance of awareness and prevention during October health month. Tables for blood pressure screening, breast cancer awareness and prevention techniques, dental health with toothbrush and toothpaste samples, affordable health insurance information, along with informational handouts, brochures, booklets, and pamphlets were available. Tracy Bennett was the winner of a pink gift basket in honor of breast cancer survivors which shoppers had a chance to win by submitting their name. Jeanette Bennett accepted the basket for Tracy Bennett. In addition to the educators, other organizations involved were Okefenokee Black Nurses Association, McKinney Medical Center, Jackson Dentistry, and the Waycross Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
