WAYCROSS — Mrs. Helen Lightsey Fales, 76, of Waycross passed away from a sudden and unexpected illness Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Born December 4, 1947, to Omar and Dorothy Lightsey, she grew up in App ling County. After completing her college education, Mrs. Fales went on to work as a social studies teacher for 40 years, with the majority of those years spent at Ware County High School working alongside her husband of 46 years, W.D. (Dan) Fales. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and educator.
She will be dearly missed by her beloved survivors, which include her husband, W.D. (Dan) Fales; daughter Caroline; three sons, Daniel (wife Jennifer), Jonathan, and Eric; two grandsons, Jack and David; sister, Diane Lightsey; two nieces, Dorothy and Kimberly; and a small group of cherished, close friends.
Mrs. Fales also leaves behind numerous former colleagues and students who cherished her kind and giving nature.
The family received mourners Saturday afternoon, November 9 at a visitation service in Music Funeral Home.
