WAYCROSS — Mr. Arthur Lavaughn James, 86, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness.
He was born in Manor to the late Wesley James and Lottie Boyd James. James retired after 35 years of employm ent from King Edward Cigar Factory as a supervisor. In his spare time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He simply loved the outdoors.
James is survived by his wife, Helen James of Waycross; four children, Betty Lynn Griffin of Blackshear, Sidney James of Blackshear, Keith James of Villa Rica, Ga., and Cindy Crawford of Blackshear; five grandchildren, Chris Smith, Brandi Smith, Tyler Crawford, Olivia Crawford, and Kaylee Hooley (Bryce); six great grandchildren, Kirsti Smith, Jaylin Smith, Cole Herrin, Kenley Joyner, Jensi Smith, and Rylan Crawford; two brothers, Barry Lamar James (Angie) of Manor, and Butch James of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Monday, November 11 at Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery in Manor.
