Briant
HINESVILLE, Ga. — Clara Delores Briant was born the seventh of eight children on August 28, 1934. Mrs. Briant passed away September 23, 2024.
She was the last surviving sibling of four sisters and three brothers, Booker T. Brinkley, Charlie Lee Moore, Eunice (Curtis, Sr.) Jacks on, Mabel (Marvin) Andrews, Leatha (Raymond) Jones, Modina (Franklin) Paulk, and Clevland B. Moore.
Mrs. Briant traveled the world with her beloved husband, Billy Briant, who was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force after serving 25 years. Professionally, Mrs. Briant served as a practical nurse and teacher for several years. She also was known for her beautiful voice that could set the church ablaze. Mrs. Briant loved children and taught them Bible history in Sunday school. She was a historian and spent several years researching and documenting her family’s history and lineage. Ultimately, her work was published in the Library of Congress.
Even when Mrs. Briant’s memory failed her, her faith did not. She never forgot how much she loved the Lord and how much He loved her. She continued to praise the Lord and respond to prayer up until the end of her life.
Mrs. Briant was preceded in death by her husband, Billy D. Briant, all of her children, Henry Sharpe, Jr. (“Ricky”), Gregory Sharpe, and Derrick Sharpe, and all of her siblings. She is survived by a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.
