Fowler
WAYCROSS — Joshua Irwin Fowler, 53, died Saturday morning, October 26, 2024, of natural causes at his home in Waycross.
Fowler lived all over the world as an “Army Brat” and moved to Waycross in 2011 where he was the owneroperator of Two Guys Beverage, Tobacco and Cigar Warehouse. He was a 1989 graduate of West Springfield High School in Virginia, attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, Ga., and later worked for Premium Distributors in Virginia before coming to Georgia in 2009 to help care for his grandfather.
Fowler never met a stranger, and lit up any room he entered. His boundless personality extended to friends, family and co-workers for whom he was always there. An avid University of Georgia Bulldogs fan, Fowler loved English Bulldogs and treasured his first Bulldog, Dooley, and his second, Herschel. Single and with no children, both his “Dawgs” were his family and were truly loved, deservedly so!
As part of an Army family, Irwin grew up in and around military bases in New Jersey, Fort Gordon, Ga., Fort Leavenworth, Kan., Grafenwoehr, Germany, Berlin, Germany, Washington, D.C., and Seoul, South Korea. His experiences instilled in him a patriotic love of country and respect for those whom he met all over the world.
Irwin is survived by his mother and father, Anne and Zack Fowler, of Pawleys Island, S.C.; his brother Jeff, sister-in-law Amy, niece Alex Fowler, nephews Sam and Jack Fowler, all of Houston, Texas; his uncle Rick Frisbie of Tucker, Ga.; aunt Marjorie Bridges of Seneca, S.C.; and cousins Hank Bridges of Houston and Elizabeth Pedrotti of San Antonia, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Spud and Sara Bridges of Vidalia, Ga.; uncle Irwin Bridges of Seneca; aunt Jane Frisbie of Tucker; paternal grandparents R.W. and Cornelia Fowler; and uncle David Fowler, all of Vidalia.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, October 30) in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
