Faith Outreach has special service Faith Outreach Ministries, A Word Fellowship Inc., will hold a special service at noon, Sunday, November 3 at 200 Tebeau Street.

Speaker for the program will be Dr. Terence D. Lattimore, Pastor of Judah Family Worship Center. Dr. Frances E. Fields is ministry founder and pastor.

Antioch celebrates pastor anniversary The Historic Antioch Baptist Church, Inc., 615 Knight Avenue, celebrates the 12th pastoral anniversary of Pastor Raymond C. Williams, Sr. and Lady Shirley Williams with a special service at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 17.

Jimmy R. Boyd, Pastor of Christian Love Bible Baptist Church in Valdosta will deliver the message.

Theme for the program is “The Good Shepherd, Feed My Flock: Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”

Scripture is Jeremiah 3: 15: “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

Comfort Chapel has special events Comfort Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 1600 Cherokee Circle, holds its annual meeting with special activities Friday-Sunday, November 1-3.

Elder Terry Barnard, pastor of the Thomasville (Ga.) Primitive Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.

Worship will be at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, November 1-2, and at 11 a.m. Sunday, November 3. The church observes its 24th annual Homecoming service Sunday.

A dutch treat fellowship meal will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Jerry J’s Restaurant, 1406 Plant Avenue. A prayer breakfast will be at 8 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Elder Terry Herrin, pastor of the Mars Hill Primitive Baptist Church near Hoboken will be speaker for the prayer breakfast.

Second Baptist taking shoeboxes Second Baptist Church, 301 Tomberlin Road, will be the drop off center for the 2024 National Collection Week (November 1825) for the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox program.

Shoeboxes filled with small personal items and toiletries can be dropped off under the church’s fellowship hall shelter in the rear of the building.

Locally last year, churches and individuals contributed more than 3,000 boxes to the worldwide program.

The church will accept contributions: 10 a.m.noon, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, November 18, 20 and 22; 5-7 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday, November 19-21; 9-11 a.m., Saturday, November 23; 2-4 p.m., Sunday, November 24; and 7-9 a.m., Monday, November 25.

Gospel of John subject of study Victorious Living Bible Institute is staging a free study of the Gospel of John on Tuesdays.

Bishop Ronald K. Reed serves as facilitator for the 7 p.m. weekly program delivered live via Zoom.

Grace Episcopal talks Taylor book Grace Episcopal Church, 401 Pendleton Street, will host a book study of Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others by renowned author and Episcopal priest Barbara Brown Taylor.

DC Downtown has food ministry DC Downtown Food Ministry offers food items from a 5,000-square foot warehouse at 201 Jenkins Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
