Jamestown Baptist to host Chuck Day Jamestown Baptist Church, 3800 ABC Avenue, will host southern gospel singer/songwriter Chuck Day in a concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, October 27 in the church sanctuary.
Having written and cowritten many songs recorded by a host of gospel artists, Day is most well-known as the cowriter of “Midnight Cry,” still a well-loved and often covered gospel song.
There is no charge for the concert, but a love offering will be taken.
Pleasant Valley sets Fall Festival Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 7136 Central Avenue, has scheduled a Fall Festival from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, October 27.
The free event of food and family fun is open to the public. There will be bounce houses, a cake walk, train rides, cookie decorating, and bingo.
The church also will have a prayer station during the event where attendees can share or receive a time of prayer understanding and materials to help in difficult times.
Hoboken Baptist sets youth rally Hoboken Baptist Church, 4714 West Main Street East, will stage a youth rally at 6 p.m. Sunday, November 3.
In addition to the worship service with Ethan Carlson as guest speaker, there will be live music, food and beverages. The music will be provided by Clark Carter, Eli Thomas, Edie Lowther and Mia Kate Bates.
Comfort Chapel has special events Comfort Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 1600 Cherokee Circle, holds its annual meeting with special activities Friday-Sunday, November 1-3.
Elder Terry Barnard, pastor of the Thomasville (Ga.) Primitive Baptist Church, will be the guest speaker.
Worship services will be at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, November 1-2, and at 11 a.m. Sunday, November 3. The church observes is 24th annual Homecoming service Sunday.
A dutch treat fellowship meal will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Jerry J’s Restaurant, 1406 Plant Avenue. A prayer breakfast will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Victorious Living Bible Institute is staging a free study of the Gospel of John on Tuesdays.
