Davis
WAYCROSS — Mr. Marvin Earl Davis, 69, of Waycross, died Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after an extended illness.
Davis was born in Douglas to the late Marvin Collon Davis and Lucille Turner Davis. He worked alongside his brother with Davis Roofing Company.
Davis was a member of Zion Hill Freewill Baptist Church and Big Swamp Hunting Club. He always enjoyed any time he was able to hunt and fish.
Along with his parents, Davis was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dale Marie Davis and Bernice Davis; one brother, David Davis; his sister-in-law, Betty Sue Davis; and his niece, Marie Strickland.
He is survived by two brothers, Donald Davis of Bickley and Keith Davis and his wife, Cathy, of Temple, Texas; his nephew, Joey Strickland and his wife, Angela, of Waycross; a special cousin, Charlene Naylor and her husband, Darren, of Millwood; special nieces, Betty Jean Rouse of Bickley, Bethany Rouse of Moultrie and Emma Studstill of Waycross; special friends, Marty Fullard and Vincent Livingston; and numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.
A funeral service was held Saturday, October 2 at Zion Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
