WAYCROSS — Mrs. W. Louise Hutcheson Black, 92, passed away Monday, September23,2024,atthe Baptist Village Retirement Communities following an extended illness.
She was born in Coffee County to the late Ben and Thelma Hutcheson. Mrs. Black was selfemployed in sewing manufacturing for London Fog for many years.
She was a member of Emerson Park Baptist Church, but had attended various churches in the area.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Black was also preceded in death by her husband, George E. Black; two grandsons, J.D. Burke and Van Streat, Jr.; two sisters, Nell Cato and Geneva Taylor; and a brother, Ben Hutcheson, Jr.
She is survived by four children, Beverly Ann Burke (Jimmy) of Jacksonville, N.C., Wanda Bennett (Kevis) of Blackshear, Susan Hilton (Ronnie) of Blackshear, and Melissa Strickland (David) of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Kim Cook (Chris) of Jacksonville, N.C., Robin Todd (Jim) of Blackshear, Kelly Lastinger (Seab) of Douglas, and Cody Hilton (Michelle) of Blackshear; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held Friday, September 27 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.
