MANOR — Mrs. Earnestine Gale Morgan, 83, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at her residence in Manor following a short illness.

She was born in Ware County to the late Edgar Pierce Cox and Lucy Louise Fitchett Cox. Mrs. Morgan graduated from South Georgia College with an associates degree in education.

She was also employed with various shoe factories in the area and was a former substitute teacher.

Mrs. Morgan primarily assisted her late husband, the Rev. Fred J. Morgan, in his ministry. She was a member of Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy where she served in many roles such as Sunday school teacher, children and youth ministry director, clerk, and missionary among others.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morgan was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Bennett and Mary Eveline Murray; and three brothers, Elmer Wilson “Rooney” Cox, Sr., Elbert F. Cox and Johnny Earl Cox.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by a daughter, Sandra Morgan of Manor; a son, the Rev. Bruce A. Morgan (wife Missy) of Folkston; three grandchildren, Ashlea Smith (husband Kevin), Kaitlyn Lairsey (Stion), and Jacob Morgan; two great grandchildren, Waylon Smith and Mia Lairsey; three sisters, Eyvonne Hannah (husband Maurice) of Waycross, Elaine Lupo of Manor and Eula Mae Adams (husband Dennis) of Quitman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Thursday, September 26 at Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy in Manor.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.
