WAYCROSS — Mr. Jerry Pearson, 80, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at his residence in Waycross following an extended illness.
Pearson was born in Blackshear to the late Jasper Pearson and Ima Jean Chastain Pearson. He was a former owner and operator of Pearson and Sons Trucking.
In addition to his parents, Pearson was also preceded in death by a grandson, William Chastain “Chase” Pearson; a brother, Jackie Pearson; and a sister, Shirley Swords.
Pearson is survived by his son, William Scott Pearson of Waycross; a step-daughter, Lori Coker Donnelly of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; a grandson, Chandler Scott Pearson of Blue Ridge, Ga.; his former wife, Marie Bates of St. Augustine, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2024 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will begin receiving friends at the funeral home Friday at 1 p.m.
