Special to the WJH The 82nd Annual NAACP State Convention and Civil Rights Conference will be staged Thursday- Saturday, October 10-12 at the Augusta Marriott Convention Center.
The theme for the program “All in: Lifting Every Voice!” aims to unite youth and adults, civic rights leaders, activists, clergy, unions leaders, industry experts, legislators, and community members from across Georgia.
The session will address key areas such as civil engagement, legal redress, financial literacy, labor, education, health, women’s rights, and veteran’s assistance toward creating meaningful change in communities.
The conference closes with a celebration of achievements with a callto- action address by Derrick Johnson, NAACP president and CEO.
