WAYCROSS — Mrs. Nancy Evelyn Melton Shubert, 83, of Waycross, died Friday evening, September 20, 2024, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House after an extended illness.

Mrs. Shubert was born in Waycross to the late Dorsey Melton and Beulah Dryden Melton. Mrs. Shubert worked for Transco

Cap Factory in Waycross and was a member of Jordan Church in Dixie Union, where she served as the choir leader for many years.

Mrs. Shubert also was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed watching University of Georgia football and the Atlanta Braves.

Mrs. Shubert was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She enjoyed any moment she was able to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert “Jim” Shubert, Sr.; three brothers, Emory Melton, Ed Melton, and Mac Melton; and one sister, Eloise Rouse.

Mrs. Shubert is survived by four sons, Jimbo Shubert (wife Chanda) of Waycross, Michael Shubert (wife Barbie) of Blackshear, Ronald Moody of Pearson, and Randy Moody of Waycross; six grandchildren, Mikey Shubert (wife Adrienne), Hannah Shubert, Haley Shubert, Lizzie Shubert Appel (Tim), Logan
