Ware County High School staff members Linda Hall and Barbara Crosby have been honored as the school system’s Golden Achievement Award winners for September.
Hall, a member of the lunchroom staff, was the Classified winner, while Crosby, Science Department Chair, was the Certified honoree. Both were recognized at the school board meeting earlier this month by WCHS Principal Dr. Tyrone Kellogg.
The principal called Hall, “a valued nutrition worker” at the school.
“Linda’s unique blend of enthusiasm, dedication, and unwavering positive spirit has made her a standout member of our school community, and we are thrilled to honor her with this prestigious award,” Kellogg said. Linda Hall is known throughout Ware County High School for her infectious energy and love for her job. Every day, she brings a remarkable level of enthusiasm to her role, whether preparing meals, serving students, or supporting her colleagues.
“Linda’s passion for her work goes far beyond her daily responsibilities; she views every meal she serves as an opportunity to impact the lives of our students and staff positively. Her warm smile, cheerful attitude, and kind words have made the cafeteria a welcoming place where everyone feels valued and appreciated.
“Beyond her outstanding work in the cafeteria, Linda is an incredible team player. She’s always ready to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or brighten someone’s day with her infectious laughter. Her positive attitude is truly contagious, and she has a unique ability to uplift the spirits of those around her.”
Kellogg introduced Crosby saying, “this recognition is a testament to her exceptional contributions to our school, her dedication to educational excellence, and her unwavering commitment to fostering a love for science among her students and colleagues.
“Mrs. Crosby has been an integral part of the Ware County High School community for many years. Throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated an extraordinary ability to inspire both students and teachers through her passion for science and her innovative approach to education. She consistently sets high standards for academic performance and student engagement.
“One of the key reasons for Mrs. Crosby’s selection for this award is her outstanding vision. She has spearheaded numerous initiatives that have enriched the learning experiences of our students, including a science curriculum that integrates hands-on experiments, field studies, and the use of advanced technology. Her commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment has also been evident in her efforts to ensure that all students, regardless of their backgroundor ability, have access to quality science education.
“Additionally, Mrs. Crosby has been a mentor and role model for her colleagues, continually fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth. Her dedication to continuous improvement is evident in her active participation in professional development opportunities.
“... Her dedication, passion, and tireless efforts have made a profound difference in the lives of her students, colleagues, and the entire Ware County High School community.”
