PCMS Swim Team opens season at Spooky Fast Invitational

Pierce County Middle School (PCMS) Swimmers competed in their third meet of the season this past Saturday (Oct. 29) at the Spooky Fast Invitational in Waycross.

In the 100yd Freestyle, Sophia Cochran placed third (1:52.53) and Avery Wicker placed fourth (1:54.81).

For the men, Donald Moser placed fourth (1:29.20) and Kane Murphy placed sixth (1:46.43).

James Alonso placed first in the 100yd Individual Medley (1:45.04).

Grayson Harris finished fourth in the women’s 50yd Butterfly.

And in the women’s 50yd Freestyle, Lyla Brooker placed third (47.79) and Khloe Hewatt placed fourth (56.57), both swimmers continuing to drop seconds off of their times, according to Coach Jennifer Harris.

In the men’s 50yd Freestyle, Donald Moser finished fourth (37.86) followed by Cooper Davis who came in sixth (38.57).

Kane Murphy placed eighth, followed by Carter John’s who finished ninth.

Teagan Dixon took first in the girls 200yd Freestyle (2:45.35) and in the 50yd Backstroke (36.76).

Lyla Brooker took fourth, Sophia Cochran took fifth, Grayson Harris finished seventh , Avery Wicker was ninth and Khloe Hewatt was tenth.

In the men’s 50yd Backstroke, James Alonso placed fourth (43.54), Cooper Davis was fifth (46.50), Kane Murphy was sixth (48.23) and Carter Johns was tenth (1:06.19).

“PCMS swimmers have all been working and continually improving with every opportunity,” said Harris.
